Llama Llama Misses mama is a story about how Llama Llama misses his mama. He goes to school and is distraught that his mama is not there. In the end he has so much fun that he forgets his mama is not there. I would use this book in my classroom in the middle of my first day to show my students that everyone has these feelings and that is okay.

This is a historically accurate book about an Indian girl and the struggles that she goes through in her village and house. Throughout this book that little girl goes through a journey of figuring out herself as a person. I would use this book as an whole group chapter book read. It would be a great book to use if we are studying Indians.

Harriet the Spy is a classic children's book that everyone should have the joy of reading at one point in their life. This book is about Harriet who thinks she is a spy. She comes to learn that sometimes spying on people can be hurtful and get her into trouble. She also learns that things you say and write can be hurtful even if they might be true. I can use this in my classroom to teach my students that they have to be careful what they say. I would also use this as a whole group chapter book read.

Should I Share my Ice Cream is a book about sharing. In this book the elephant has to decide if he should share his ice cream or not. He really likes is ice cream and does not want to share it, but he is a good friend. I would use this book in my classroom if we were having issues sharing.

This is the TRUE story of the three little pigs. The story is told by the wolf's perspective. He tries to explain everything had a reason beside it and he wasn't actually trying to eat the pigs. I would use this story in my class to show my students that you don't know everyone's true motive.

Pete the Cat books are becoming some of my favorite books. He is such a relatable character. This book is about how Pete the cat rocks his school shoes on the first day of school. He takes a trip across the whole school rocking his shoes. I would use this book to tell my kids that the first day of school is not that scary.

This book is about a little boy that is having a hard time believing in Christmas. The Polar Express picks him up and takes him to the North Pole. Once he gets to the North Pole he meets Santa and Santa gives him a bell off the reindeer. He looses the bell and then it shows up under his tree the next morning with a note from Santa reminding him to just believe. The little boy grows up and he can always hear the bell, but everyone else can't. I would use this book during Christmas time and to teach my students to just believe.

Red is a story about a blue crayon stuck in red wrapping. Its about being yourself and doing your own thing. This teaches students that everyone has different talents and not everyone is good at the same thing. I would use this book in my classroom to show students that they need to be themselves and not try to follow the crowd.

This classic Dr. Seuss book is a rhyming book that incorporates colors and numbers. I would use this in my classroom to review colors, numbers, and of course fish. I would also use this book to introduce rhyming and during read across America week. This book will be on my classroom bookshelf.

This was one of my childhood favorites! George is being mischievous as always and decides to make a pizza and then sneak into the pizza truck. He gets locked into the truck. In the end George helps the Pizza guy by climbing over the gate and delivering my pizza. I would use this book in my classroom to show that everyone makes mistakes, but you can always fix that mistake.
